So, last weekend I posted a riddle because I was too lazy to come up with anything for Memorial Day Weekend but still wanted comments. As I've said before, I'm a comment whore. (As well as a poet who didn't know it.)
Hey, I posted a cute picture too, so you can't be mad.
It is time to answer that riddle. I'm going to do it in extremely long-winded fashion.
First, mad props to In Pursuit of Martha Points for posting my very favorite answer ever: The answer to the riddle, obviously, is "Jimmy, because purple ice-creams have no spines."
A very close second goes to Surferwife for the answer that is making me desperately wish that some day my son will marry her daughter: Because your son is this millenium's Luke Skywalker and she is not. So you are hoping to make her sound more important with that title.
Both the authors of Peace Love and Muesli and Stir-Fry Awesomeness seem to know me very, very well because they guessed: Clearly there is no rhyme or reason. and Because you're nuts??? respectively.
THOSE ARE THE CORRECT ANSWERS. I have absolutely no reason why I don't call Boss Lady by her name. It just sort of happened that way and I stuck with it. Now I can't stop because it would be confusing. And I'm insane.
A few people guessed that Boss Lady was actually her given name which made me laugh. And a few people guessed that it was because the dog in a shirt would attack me if I posted her real name.
All in all, the comments were hilarious. You guys rock. Go read the rest of the comments because I can't do them justice.
I'd also like to take a moment to thank Nichole from In These Small Moments for bestowing the Versatile Blogger award on me. Also, Sippy Cup Mom bequeathed the Trendy Blog award on my little site.
Thank you both so much. While I've never thought of myself as Versatile and certainly not as Trendy I will wear your praise with honor.
I will also cop out by using this post to pass the awards on to everyone I've listed here. Oh, I'm a rule breaker for sure. Is there an award for that?
Also, today is David's birthday. Happy birthday my wonderful, amazing husband. I love celebrating every year older you get. It means I still have you around. And, we get cupcakes.

cupcakes...so yummy! would they happen to be coming from cake girls?
Yay for cupcakes! And your awards! And answering the riddle!
A comment whore! I love it.
Happy birthday to David! My hubs is also David. But he didn't get cupcakes. Poor deprived man.
Isn't that funny--I don't crave comments, but I check my blog analytics umpteen times daily to see how many HITS I get. So here is a comment for YOU: I love your blog, and although I was remiss and didn't see the riddle, I am sure it was a good one. This blog is very good, or else it would not appear on my blogroll! molly
Well Happy Birthday to David!
Now where's my cupcake?
Comment and cupcake hor right here... mmmmm to both
I'm not sure if I was right. There's lots of rhyming. Guess you are just out of reason.
Yay for June 5th birthdays! And cupcakes, of course.
Oh, yes, yes, and YES! Cupcakes over birthday cake ANY DANG DAY!
Happy Birthday!
I was sort of hoping to win a set of Ginsu knives, but I guess blogger love is a close second.
Because in Japan, blogger love is used like a knife.
Or a potholder.
My Japanese is a little rusty.
And by rusty I mean nonexistent.
I'll stop now.
Just wanted to let you know that I love that my button is over there dancing in your sidebar. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU.
You are too versatile and trendy. See how we keep coming back?
Happy B-Day David! Fed-Ex me a cupcake!
Here's a gratuitous comment for you, and Happy Birthday Hubby!
I'm also a comment whore, so much so that I've actually resorted to paying people to leave comments. Some people call it a "cash giveaway." I call it bribery.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend celebrating your husband's birthday. In England cupcakes never existed when I was a child and have never taken off over there but since moving here I have grown to love them and definitely they are better than birthday cake any day - especially if they come with cream cheese frosting, another thing you don't see over there.
I love the Martha Stewart Cupcake book, my favorite is the stem ginger cupcake recipe which I liberally coat with cream cheese frosting!
Congrats! Look at you go girlfriend, versatile IS trendy! I'm sure of it....
Now pass the cupcakes frik...
:-D
Is there anything better than cupcakes and comments? Have you eaten a cupcake while reading your comments?
What????? Purple ice cream has no spines? Well what the hell is this thing I've been chewing on then?
PS I want a cupcake. Happy Birthday, Mr. Taming Insanity!
