Versa-tility

Natalie at Mommy of a Monster and Lori at In Pursuit of Martha Points both recently bequeathed me with the Versatile Blogger award. Thank you both, it’s a complete honor, especially coming from you guys. Here are the stipulations:

1. Thank the person who gave you this award.

2. Share 7 things about yourself.

3. Pass the award along to 15 bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic! I’m going to make it even more exclusive and only pass it on to one person.

Now, seven ridiculous things about me. Because I’m still trying to be humorous and informative ’round these parts.

1. I really don’t think people use the word bequeath enough.

2. On the way to daycare there is a billboard for the movie Starsky and Hutch which came out in 2004. I don’t know who’s paying for it but I sure hope they never take that billboard down.

3. I cannot tell my left from right. This is particularly difficult when I’m giving you directions (tip: go the way I’m pointing not the way I say.) It is so bad that in 2nd grade my teacher discovere the girl sitting next to me had been cheating off of me for months. It was only after I bombed a test on right and left so simple a monkey could have passed that she was able to prove what was going on.

4. My sister taught me how to be funny. Like, we had lessons.

5. I never thought I would be asked to stand up in a wedding other than my sister’s. As it stands, I’ve now got two others under my belt. I’m pretty sure I’m a terrible bridesmaid because I’m trying so hard to make the bride’s life easier that I am in danger of pestering her to death. Which is not relaxing.

6. I just discovered this word via Twitter: schlimmbesserung – an improvement that actually makes things worse. I must now use it at all times. German + judgmental = perfection.

7. I really, really want some chips right now. That counts, right?

And so that you can meet her as well, here is who I’m passing the Versatile Blogger Award on to:

Jenny @ Part-Time House Monkey She is from Texas. That is all.

#6….I have no idea how to pronounce it but when I figure it out, I am also using it at all possible times, and maybe at innappropriate times, too.

I suck with left and right and always have to think about it before I move one way or the other. Glad to know I'm not alone!

Thanks for the shout out, Ms. Versatile – I'm glad I was able to bequeath this award to you :)

That billboard sounds RAD. I can only imagine how many ways it would have been vandalized here in my part of the world.

Lol. Love it. I can see why you got the award just based on your 7 things about you! I vow to try to use the word bequeath more and I would love some chips! Chips are the best snack ever. – Visiting from the Lady Bloggers and becoming a follower. Cheers!

Please!! Details on the “how to be funny” lessons.

And congrats on your award. And it is true and I'm glad it was bequeathded to you (how's that for enough bequeath being put to use..)

I have the exact same issue as you, which apparently is almost always something that afflicts women and not men. If we are in the car driving and I am giving directions, I have to concentrate to hard on the directions and even when I think “left” I manage to blurt “right” instead. I was once chosen as the navigator on a treasure hunt by car and needless to say after shouting the wrong directions out several times we ended up totally lost!

Left is “this way” and Right is “that way”…at least that's how it goes in my world!

Your bequeath is my toothsome. If we are ever to become a truly civilized society, there needs to be a hell of a lot more sentences with “toothsome” in them. Thank you.
